Obituary of Tyler Brenneman
Tyler McKenzie Brenneman
April 4, 1979 Calgary, Alberta - December 4, 2013 Toronto, Ontario
A LIFE TOO SHORT
Tyler passed away suddenly in his sleep while struggling with a debilitating disease, leaving his life ambitions unfulfilled. He prepared himself well for success by graduating in the IB program at the International School in Antwerp and going on to complete a Business Degree at the University of Western Ontario. After concluding that the grueling hours in the Investment Banking world were not for him, he went back for his MBA at the University of Toronto's Rotman School and went on to a successful career in institutional trading. He had a passion for any and all types of business. He read the Globe and Mail religiously as well as almost every book written by or about prominent business leaders. He was very proud of his library collection. He dreamed big about what was possible.
While business was his passion, he always looked forward to the friendly competition for the Matches Cup and the incessant kibitzing on his annual golf outings with his buddies. His love for Darcie and the times they spent together was matched only by his love for playfully poking fun at his nephews Jack and Sam and his niece Kennedy. He cared for them like his own. His time at the cottage was always special, particularly if they were there. And they will miss their road hockey games and chipping contests with him over Christmas in Florida. He will be dearly missed by all - his parents Ron and Jan, sister Tiggy, his brother-in-law Steve, his beloved wife Darcie and the Crowe family, along with his many friends. Everyone who met Tyler saw his warmth and openness. They all cared deeply for him and many tried to help him through his difficulties. For that, his family is truly grateful.
A funeral service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, 1-800-616-3311 on Tuesday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of Tyler's life will follow at THE CRICKET CLUB, 141 Wilson Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. If desired, donations may be made to the CAMH Foundation (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health), Bell Gateway Building, 100 Stokes Street, 5th Floor, Toronto, Ontario M6J 1H4 (www.camh.ca) or to AARC (Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre), 303 Forge Road SE, Calgary, Alberta T2H 0S9 (www.aarc.ab.ca).
