Condolences to Bill Dimma’s family. I served with Bill on the Greater Toronto Airports Authority inaugural board in the late 90’s. Bill was part of the Board who worked tirelessly to build an $4.4 billion dollar airport project on time and on budget, no mean feat in those days. He played a crucial in Toronto’s history, we will never forget. John H. Walker

I am saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. He made such a difference in my life when he become my mentor under the Women on Board program. Over the course of many months, Bill met regularly with me to share his experiences and provide advice and counsel to me as I started my own director and governance career. He was wise, generous and totally committed to advancing diversity in the boardroom. I was privileged to know him, and to benefit from his years of experience. It was a joy to share so many lunches bouyed by his humour, wisdom, humanity and our shared love of reading. My condolences to his family, whom he spoke of often with such pride and affection.

Bill was a giant - albeit a friendly one. As a colleague, Board leader, businessman and good citizen of York University, his record stands unmatched. He was intelligent, principled, practical, persuasive, good humored and loyal. What more could any university ask of its leaders? To the Dimma Family. I was very sorry to see the news of Bill's passing. For several years, he was an enthusiastic participant in discussions on BNN---notably in quarterly segments alongside his friends Jim Gillies and Jim Gray. We always had wonderful conversations and I know the audience benefited from his wisdom and years of experience. We also had a heckuva lot of fun during those programs---including some good-natured arguments that ultimately led to laughter. I have fond memories of Bill striding athletically into the studio, well into his eighties, always game to join in. Again, I'm so sorry to see him go. My condolences on your loss. Howard Green
