Hearing of Barb's passing hit me hard. Second of my people to pass this year from cancer. My circle is now so much smaller without Barb.
Felt like I grew up with Barb, only we started as adults. Met her through Terry at Walnut Ave, across the street from Stanley Park. Best concert we went to together was Sarstock at Downsview Park (can you say sunburn?). We left before headliner Stones really got going cause we went to see AC / DC.
Followed Barb all the way around the east end of Toronto for over 30 years. Saw Corey, Christopher and Caylin grow up and became like an 'aunt'.
Got her into security and free concerts/actually we got paid to work the concerts.
We will all miss her deeply and dearly.

Barbs support of our Indigenous community is still vibrant and felt by all who met and shared with her.
The community indeed feels her absence at our fires and events. She will be greatly missed but we know she is watching over us all. Everytime you look at that fire.. talk to her... every full moon ceremony say hi! WELA'LIN Barb for being a light on my Red Road. I will miss you!

I only met Barb about a year ago and she approached me at a club and we talked and we hit it off-we saw each other at clubs, concerts and powwows. We became friends on facebook-exchanged numbers and we became very close within the year. She was a great person and I will miss her dearly. Condolences to her family.....xo

My deepest condolences to Barb's entire family. I only met Barb in the last few years, but she made a deep impact on me and was a special spirit. A donation has been made in Barb's honour to save a little kitten named Oakley from FIP. <3
