Obituary of Yolanda Cira

CIRA, Yolanda (nee Bernard) – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yolanda at her home at Delmanor Northtown on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in her 97th year. Yolanda will be reunited with her beloved late husband, Charles. Lovingly remembered by children, Charles (Sherry), Michael (Mary), John (Nan) and Paul (Kathleen). Sadly missed by grandchildren, Bethany (Matthew), Nicholas (Brittany), Daniel (Katrina), Lesley (Brad), Stephanie (Rene), Michelle, Matthew, Jonathon, Amanda, Cameron, David, Michael and great grandchildren; Joey, Julian, Hunter, Colby, Lorenzo, Effy, Clark, Rocky P., Rocky C., Reese along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Michael and Madeliena Bernard, her brother Sal (late Lois) and sisters Mildred (late Ted), Eleanor (late Vince) and Rosemarie (late Sam). Also predeceased by her in-laws; Joseph and Antonina, brother/sister in-laws Mary and Jack, Sal and Irene, Agatha and John, Peter and Gertie, Dorothy and Joe, Margaret and Frank, Joe and Helen. A special thanks to the staff at Delmanor Northtown and North York General Hospital.

Yolanda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and good friend. She dedicated 45 years volunteering at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center and many years of service with Meals-on Wheels. She loved the theatre, summers at the cottage and spending time with family. Yolanda will fondly be remembered for hosting fabulous Sunday family meals and her generosity.

A visitation will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Ave (at Davisville) on Sunday November 20 th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret's Church (Avenue Road, south of Wilson) on Monday, November 21 st at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. In memoriam donations may be made to Sunnybrook Foundation or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
