Obituary of Gerald (Jerry) Webster
July 28, 1945 - October 19, 2022
Jerry Webster passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy (nee Poole), his three children and three step children. Mark (Ruth), Cyndi Williams (Michael), James (Kelsey), Bill Lawson (Sabrina), Mathew Lawson (Robyn) and Patrick Charron. He was also the best Papa to Zachary, Cassidie, Charlie and Lily.
He was a great and caring brother to Margery Merritt (Peter, deceased), Charlie (Judy), Tom (Shellie), Lynne Wallace (Jim), Bill (Cecile). Jerry was the much-loved brother-in-law to the Poole family. Michael, Linda Cundari (Chuck), David, Mark (deceased), Mary, Greg (Nancy) and Tom (Barbara). He was always the fun Uncle and Great Uncle to many Webster’s and Poole’s.
Jerry spent over 40 years in the computer services industry. He was recognized as a leader within the industry and to his team. One of his passions, Jerry gave generously of his time in coaching hockey for many years in Pickering.
Jerry wrote a blog about his cancer journey and always made it interesting. It was, of course, full of humour. Jerry inspired many and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26th at St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church, 1 MacNaughton Road, Toronto. A reception will follow. The service will be livestreamed.
