First of all, we want to thank Michael for his kind phone call to the Harries earlier this week.
Unfortunately, Barbara and I are not able to attend Sheila's funeral on Monday afternoon.
So, here we are online. We want to express our very sincere condolences to John, and family. May Monday be a time of
remembering Sheila, and for giving thanks to God for all her caring and love, especially for those less fortunate.
While I, (John Harries) was on staff at TEMC from 1992 to 2002, Sheila was my "right arm" volunteer when it came to outreach to the wider community. Never did she say "no" to a new initiative in this regard, and she worked tirelessly on many such occasions and projects. Our fond memories of Sheila are rich and lasting. We admired her depth of concern for others, and her absolute dedication and determination to express her faith in very practical ways. Eaton Memorial has some outstanding
volunteer and Sheila was one of the very best that I have worked with in my over 50 years of United Church ministry.
Our wish for the whole extended Allen family, friends and Sheila's "volunteer colleagues," is that we shall all remember, embrace and emulate Sheila's legacy, example, and volunteer leadership over so many years. Our best wishes to you all as you continue to mourn a great loss from your family circle. May God be your strength and guide at this time.
Warmest regards to you all.
(Rev.) John and Barbara Harries
