Obituary of Ian Morrison Bain

IAN MORRISON BAIN

September 19, 1938 – September 14, 2022

It is with sadness that the family of Ian Bain announce his peaceful passing at his home in Toronto following a brief illness.

Ian was born in Elgin, Scotland, the youngest of two sons.  At age nineteen, Ian came to Canada and quickly grew to love his new country.  In 1972, Ian married Charlene Bain, mother of three of his children, and they enjoyed 33 years together.  In 1978, Ian started the family business, Elgin Picture and Frame Inc., which continues to be family owned and operated.

Ian is survived by his children, Sandra Reid and Greg Kyle of Halifax; Andrew, David, and Ellen Bain of Toronto; and his four grandchildren, Liam and Keegan Reid, and Van and Townes Bain. Ian is predeceased by his brother, Denis Bain of Aberdeen, Scotland.

Ian’s children would like to thank Katy Bell for the care and attention she gave their father during the past year.

Friends are invited to join the Bain family for a celebration of Ian’s life on October 11, 2022, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, 141 St. George Street, Toronto.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
