Margaret Light

Obituary of Margaret Anne Light

Margaret Anne Light (née Miller) passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2022 at the

age of 95. Born January 8, 1927 in Brockville ON, she was predeceased by her beloved husband,

Walter F. Light, and by her cherished daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Light. She is survived by her

loving daughter Janice (Light) and spouse David (McNaughton); her cherished grandchildren, John and David Tuzi (and their spouses, Linh and Ellen), and Christopher, Kathryn, and Matthew McNaughton; as well as her great-grandchildren, Sophia and Anthony, and Alice and Luca.

Margaret was a remarkable woman; she was a true adventurer with a passion for travel and meeting new people. When she was not traveling, she adored walking her Welsh Terriers, talking with friends and neighbours, spending time in her garden in Orford NH, and reading on the dock at Lake Armington NH. She was an avid champion of the textile arts through her support of art conservation at her alma mater Queen’s University, and her volunteer work at the Textile Museum of Canada.

Marg was a thoughtful and gracious person who enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her generosity and kindness stretched out to her entire extended family and to her many friends. We are grateful to the dedicated and caring staff of Home Instead, the Toronto General Hospital, and the Sinai Health Palliative Care Team.
