Obituary of Ihor Theodore Onyszczak
Ihor passed away on July 28, 2022 following a heart attack. Born in Pickle Crow, Ontario, Canada, on March 7 1951, or thereabouts, to Stephan and Olga Onyszczak (predeceased). Ihor was the middle child of three; his older sister Natalie and younger brother Jury also predeceased him. He attended just about every grade and high school in East York before finally graduating from East York C.I. Settling down with his wife Mary (nee Ingerman) in 1972, he got right to his passions in life - his children Theodore and Michael, as well as cars, particularly classic Minis, and computers. After careers in high end stereo sales, mechanics, and photography he settled into his passion, designing and building airplanes for DeHavilland Canada. After a forced retirement in September, 2001, he was free to indulge his curiosities in sewing machine repair and neighbourhood maintenance for 20 years.
Ihor is survived by his wife Mary, his sons Ted (Brenda) and Michael, and his beloved pop pop grandchildren Wesley, Patrick and Henrik. He was a rambunctious uncle to Erik (Lisa), Pieter, Gene (Shalene), Matthew (Charyl), Nicholas, Harrison, Garet (Natalie), and Kerri (Shane). Great-uncle to Jillian, Lacey, Audrey, Saona, Taylum, Salme; and brother-in-law to Rita (Gary) and Linda (Brian). He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Sunnybrook Hospital Schulich Heart Centre.
