Obituary of Catherine Knight

CATHERINE KNIGHT

(nee Hardinge)

Catherine (Kitty) was born March 23, 1934 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, immigrated to Canada in 1938, and died July 15, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario. Kitty died peacefully at the age of 88, surrounded by her children. 

She leaves behind her children, David (Colleen), Ian (Pam) and Caroline; her five grandchildren, Caitlin, Kiian, Jeffrey, Heather and Danae; her three great-grandchildren, Piper, Killian and Ronin; many nieces and nephews; her sister Dolly (Giles), and her brother Derek.  Kitty was predeceased by her parents, Johm Charles (J.C.) and Catherine (Cass) and her sisters, Molly and Moira.

Kitty took up golf later in life and joined The Toronto Ladies Golf Club – it gave her great pleasure and purpose and she enjoyed golfing well into her retirement. Kitty worked for many of the leaders of the Provincial Conservative Party and made many lifelong memories and dear friends which brought her great joy and nostalgia long after she retired. Kitty will be greatly missed by her loving family. A celebration of life will be held on July 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville).
