Thank you to the family for sharing such a beautiful photo of Josephine. We worked together in the same classroom at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School for a number of years.
Dignified, kind, compassionate, always encouraging of those around her - these are a few memories of Josephine that so easily came to mind on hearing from her daughter, Linda, of her passing on.
One of our students was just 11 years old when he was in Josephine’s classroom. Today he’s a wonderful grandfather and Josephine would be so proud of him. This is what he had to say when the news about Josephine was shared with him, “Fantastic lady, very kind. She was unforgettable. A very good teacher, tough love!”
Yes, that’s our Mrs. Walsh from St. Rose of Lima School. So many years ago!
Thank you, Josephine’s family, for sharing her with us.
A life well lived - what a blessing to have known her.

I join with so many others in being lost for words at this time. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of two people who were held in such high esteem by their family. Over the years, I had been invited into their home on a few occasions and it was clear they were living heaven on earth. Family, food and faith...there was never a shortage. I believe that the measure of a life well-lived is not how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but instead through the lives they touched and the sorrow, they leave behind. I trust that you will all find comfort together in the days ahead and remember all the good times. I know there were many.
