Gavin Clark

Obituary of Gavin Clark

(JAMES) GAVIN CLARK

It is with great sorrow and regret that we say goodbye to Gavin, aged 60, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his home in Toronto. Gavin was a valued friend, brother, husband and son who will be sorely missed by all.  He leaves behind his husband Luis Rojas, siblings Alison, Morag and Donald, and mother Moira.

A private memorial will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 and live-streamed via https://ipickart.com/stream/Clark/. Donations in his honour can be made to one of his two favourite charities: Fife House Foundation, 9 Huntley Street, Toronto or Casey House, 119 Isabella Street, Toronto.

Gavin’s passing is an enormous loss to the LGBTQ+ community. At BMO, which he joined in 2001, he helped create and chaired BMO Pride, an LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group. He was also a member of BMO’s Private Client Group Steering Committee for Diversity and Inclusion and a member of the Bank of Montreal’s Diversity Council. Gavin was a member of the 519 Church Street Community Centre and sat on the Casey House Development Committee and the Fife House Development Committee where he was also a Board member. He was also a volunteer for the Church-Wellesley Business Improvement Association. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.

His generosity was endless and he leaves behind countless heartbroken friends and colleagues. We love you and will continue your work
