Obituary of Marjorie DeBuc
On Sunday, October 17th at 1:40 p.m. our mother Marjorie Laura Newman DéBuc (in her 84th year), lost her battle with breast cancer and left her earthly home to sing with the angels in heaven. Music was very comforting to her, was one her greatest passions, she spent hours listening to her favourite songs and welcomed visits from her family and friends.
Marjorie (Madge as she was lovingly called by her siblings) was born in Christiana, Jamaica on Monday, June 7th, 1937. She had 5 siblings Gerald, Vernie, Hope, Edgar and Muriel and many nieces and nephews in the Newman family. Madge and Gerald had a wonderful life with their adoptive parents Gladys & Charles Parkes. She shared many happy memories of childhood, ones we will cherish in our memories forever.
Marjorie fell in love and married John James DéBuc and ventured to Canada in 1969 to build a life for the new family they had started. Together they had 5 children, Mary (husband Peter), Elizabeth (deceased), Patricia (deceased), Christine (husband Patrick) & Michael.
Marjorie had a smile that could light up any room, and a heart full of love for her family. She was very proud of her Grandchildren Simon (wife Jazzmin), Ashlee & Justin and was blessed to have two Great Grandchildren David & Lydia. She was very loved by her friends, and extended family. A special thank you to the staff at Carefree Lodge who helped make her journey as comfortable as possible.
Marjorie always had a listening ear for conversation with her family and friends, and loved cooking, knitting/crocheting, Latin music, and dancing. She cherished family get-togethers that always turned into a feast of delicious West Indian food, music, and dancing – no one left without having a wonderful time and a full belly!
She fought a valiant battle, she never complained, she always tried to be alert and happy when we spoke or had a visit. She lived for the moment, she loved for a lifetime and forever we will love you. She might be gone in the physical presence, but her memory will live on in all our hearts.
Marjorie is resting at Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Ave, her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes would be greatly appreciated in her memory.

I Corinthians 15:41-42 NIV
41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

Meditation
The beauty of the sky at any time is a wonder and we experience that each and every day. Paul tells us our life here is perishable but our life to come will be an endless experience of God’s beauty and glory. Faith in the risen Christ opens the door to blessings that His resurrection guarantees — a glorious new spiritual body and a home in heaven.
Prayer
Lord, we thank you for the wonderful beauty you provide for us every day as we journey through our life this side of heaven. We thank you for the promises of eternity and all that will be. Amen.
