Although we were raised in different provinces Gloria always loved a bit of fun when she came to Newfoundland to visit!Always a lady and beautiful in every way!The way in which she dealt with her sickness was inspiring….she fought to the bitter end.So happy two years ago when she again visited Newfoundland with her sister Janet and daughter Ashely! We played lots of cards, screeched Ashley in and did a family road trip to Trinity!Have some lovely happy memories and this beautiful picture here of her is how I am going to remember her ….as that beautiful, vital woman. My heart goes out to all of you so close to her at this great loss! With much love from cousin Cathy Connors- Mount Pearl,Newfoundland. Rest In Peace my beautiful cousin!

To Doug, Erik, Ashley and Family,
Our deepest condolences to you and your entire family. I was so deeply saddened and in disbelief when I learned of Gloria's passing. What an absolute shame. Gloria was such an amazing and strong woman. Always so kind and ready to chat whenever we saw her on the street. Even when she was sick and out for walk with Doug, she would always stop and take a few moments to speak with us on our front lawn. I actually didn't tell my kids right away because I knew they would be upset. When I finally did, the look on their faces told it all. They just stared at me. They were shocked and so sad as I had expected. After some somber time, they then said, " I remember when Gloria would make us all of those cakes and scones. They were so good!." Sienna continued to say, "That was the first time I ever heard the word scones!" They even remembered when Gloria went out of her way and made a giant cookie for Davin's birthday! Gloria was a true inspiration. What a wonderful woman and we were so lucky to know her.
She will be greatly missed and she will forever be in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Love,
Cindy, Davin and Sienna Linder
