My heartfelt condolences to George and Edmond and their families on the death of their mother and grandmother, Betty Franks. I was introduced to Bob and Betty, and George and Edmond through Betty's father, Ab Swash, who was a friend of my father in their youths. I also remember fondly both Ab and his wife Ena.
I moved to Toronto from my hometown of Vancouver in 1967, but met the Franks and Swashes the first time when I worked one summer in 1965 in Toronto. Their warm friendship when I moved permanently made my move away from my childhood home much easier and was greatly appreciated. Latterly, I am grateful for my wife, Karin (met in 1967 shortly after my move to Toronto and married in 1968) for maintaining contact with Betty.
I am glad to see the obituary photo captures Betty's wonderful smile.
Best wishes to you, and thanks for the memories.
