My heartfelt condolences to Sylvia's family and loved ones.
I so miss her beautiful soul and warmest smile, and will always remember the lovely Sylvia.
She was such a lovely soul and I will miss her genuine hugs I would get just over a year ago when we would meet Tuesday mornings at the Burr House to talk about our shared love for weaving. Our Tuesday group will not be the same without her.
I first met Sylvia when I joined the Burr House over 15 years ago, but we really hit it off a few years later, after her presentation on ProWeave software, when we so passionately talked about designing weave projects on it and later sharing our ProWeave designs through emails. Sylvia was always finding new challenges to overcome, a new project, a new online tool, a new weaving method; what a great inspiration she was to me and I’m sure to many others.
I learned a lot from Sylvia, not only her masterful weaving tips and techniques, but also on a personal level. It was amazing to see how positive and full of energy Sylvia was on those Tuesday mornings. Seeing her every week with her big smile and snug hugs was a blessing that I truly miss.
I am so saddened that we could not have met during her last several months due to covid-19 pandemic. But if we believe that our souls stay with those we touch in our lives, I am sure she will be with us Tuesday mornings when us weavers get together, start another project, and discuss its challenges.
You are missed my dear Sylvia, but will live long in my heart and memory.

It was so much fun doing a surprise party for mom's 80th (which I could not have pulled off without a lot of help - especially from Pam). I wish we had more birthdays in our future :(. I miss mom, and there's a big hole in my heart now that she's gone.
I am grateful for having almost 60 years with her, and for being able to be with her for her last 3 months, taking care of her with Linda, Paul and Sonia.
She gave us a lot - a drive to be the best at whatever we do, musical talent, flair for languages and a sense of social responsibility, that guides me to do the right thing and stand up for those who can't fight for themselves.
I hope she's with dad, drinking home made wine listening to Sarah Vaughan. Pat Gandolf for me.

I miss you every day. It's lonely here in the house without you. I thank you for everything you've done for me over the years. While the first half of our relationship wasn't always the best, I cherish the friendship we developed over the past 30 years. I am grateful to have been living with you during the pandemic and to have been there for you when you got sick.
You were one smart and talented woman and you'll be missed by so many friends and family.

My sister Picca was an exceptional person. She was a talented pianist who was our Mother’s favourite accompanist. Everything she chose to do she did expertly.
She had a wonderful husband and she and Jack and John and I had so many good times together. We had vacations together with the children in Muskoka and more exotic ones in Arizona trying to ride horses and getting expert tennis lessons. Monday evening was tennis and sinner for many years. More recently we had our monthly lunches with Jeannie and John’s sister Rose. Now I have no one with whom to share our childhood experiences. To Linda, Paul and Monica, cherish the times you have together.
I miss her.

Sylvia warmly welcomed me into the large Sauro family when I married her younger brother. She got me involved with the North York Orchestra Committee, which led, through another Committee member, to becoming a volunteer at Princess Margaret. After 15 years there, it led to a fulfilling career in hospital fund-raising. I owe her so much, and I'm sorry that I never thought to tell her.
She and Jack raised beautiful, loving and talented children. What a stunning legacy!
Always remembered, always admired, always loved -- by her late brother Elvino, and by me.

I send my heartfelt sympathy to Sylvia's family and friends. Sylvia and I have known each other since high school and through the years I have been fortunate to have enjoyed her company and her wonderful, thoughtful, talented and generous friendship. I have lost my pseudo sister and will miss her very much.

My sincere condolences to Linda, Paul and Monica. Your mom was an inspiration to me as my aunt and a fellow artist. She helped me choose and buy my loom, helped me set it up and shared her vast knowledge of weaving with me. As you know, she recently passed on her inventory of handmade paper which I will treasure and turn into works of art in her honour.

Our deepest sympathies to the families of Linda, Paul and Monica and the extended Lowry family. Our family has lost another inspirational charm. I just re-read the Lanzilotta family book that Sylvia researched, wrote and prepared the physical pages for. It is a gift that she has left us for generations to come. Hoping one day soon we can celebrate her life in person. Hugs to all. Mark, Stephanie, Leo & Mila Fazio
