My Memory of Scott. I use to take my Aunt Mae (85) to watch Scott, Robin and Allan Curl. Aunt Mae loved curling. Scott was impressed with Aunt Mae. She was unique. Scott would always sit down with her after a game and they would talk curling. Scott even took the time to come out for my 75th Birthday at Robin and Allan's. They were good days. So sorry to Scotts family and Scotts numerous friends. You will be missed R.I.P Scott.

In Memory of Scott Harcourt,
I worked with Scott through the Ministers responsible for Social Services (MRSS) from about 2006 until 2019. He was helpful from the beginning. I learned early on in my tenure that he was very thoughtful and considered. I sought his perspective often. He was a true gentleman, and a great host, even got a Red Sox fan to a Blue Jays game. His big smile and warm heart will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, friends, and colleagues.

I served on the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Housing Forum with Scott from 2004 until his retirement. As another tribute mentioned below, it's pretty amazing that the first working file i shared with Scott was the White Point agreement which at the time we felt would lead to a long needed National Housing Strategy. 13 short years later, we got there. What a great way to cap off an exceptional career of public service. i learned a great deal from Scott, not the least of which is the importance of building good personal relationships and how sometimes more is accomplished at the dining table than the boardroom table. We meet many, many individuals in our public service journey - only some become trusted colleagues and fewer still we can consider friends. I'm glad to say i consider Scott in that latter category.
My condolences to the family and his many co-workers at MMAH. On behalf of so many who've come and gone or still work on the housing file across the country, thank you and Godspeed.

I had the pleasure of working with Scott over 19 years at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the last three working directly together with him on the federal-provincial/territorial file.
Scott was incredibly generous with sharing his tremendous expertise on housing and intergovernmental matters, as well as his enthusiasm for curling! After so many years of effort on Scott’s Part (from the “White Point principles” forward) it was great that at the end of his career he strongly contributed to the success of a renewed federal-provincial/territorial partnership on housing. He also was reassuringly calm and professional when the pressure was on at work. His generosity extended to being a gracious host of many of our annual Branch parties at his home, and Scott was always very conscientious and caring of the people he worked with.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Scott’s family and many friends, John Iveson

I had the pleasure of working with Scott for the last six years of his career. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and had such depth of knowledge of housing, especially when it came to intergovernmental work. He was known as the resident historian on all things federal/provincial!
As a fellow curler I enjoyed hearing about Scott’s latest games and certainly his track record was superior to mine. I enjoyed curling in a bonspiel with him at the Royals and I’m sorry we weren’t able to play in more spiels together. Scott always had the best interests of his staff and the branch at heart and I will always be grateful for his support and friendship.
My sincere condolences to Scott’s family, former colleagues and friends. He is gone far too soon.

My sincere condolences to Scott's family and friends. I worked with Scott in the Ontario Public Service for about a decade. He was a loyal, dedicated public servant who made a lasting contribution to social housing in Ontario over the course of his career. To Doug, Gail, Peter and family,
I took this picture of Scott in 2015 at his family cottage on Norway Lake. The light on his face from the big picture window with all the panelled squares, as he sat at the dining room table. The sunlight streaming in. It was my 15th year in a row going to Scott’s cottage with Allan. We went every year…third weekend in August…the boys weekend. Lots of laughs, good food, cards and a few drinks and always a boat cruise before dinner. I remember one year Scott telling us that his mom, Babs, told him to make sure he used the the good placemats for dinner when the boys were up. She wanted us to feel special…to have the best cottage experience. RIP Babs.
We also travelled the world together. From the blue chairs in Puerto Vallerta to the Parthenon in Athens to the glaciers of Alaska to riding elephants in Thailand. Never a dull moment…always an adventure…few laughs and of course…more cocktails.
What I will miss most about Scott is his gentle presence. He was a great conversationist in that he alway gave you space to share your thoughts. I appreciate that he made you feel seen and heard.
We shared good times and helped each other through difficult loses. His mom and our sisters…showing up for each other as good friends do. Always reliable and responsive and a phone call away.
It is good to have a few people in this world that you don’t have to check some part of yourself at the door, when you enter the room. With Scott, you could be yourself, just show up unedited. I will miss that.
I will miss you Scott. I thought you would be around for years to come.
As much as it pains me, I am glad you are at peace.
Take care sweet friend. Be well and rest. Love always!

My condolences to Scott's family and to all of us who have lost a great gentleman. during my 10 years at Royals, I got to know him and curl with Scott on several competitive occasions. We each had our ways of doing things but we worked well together on the ice, easily allowing the other to be the captain and knowing that usually we would be successful.
When I heard via the grapvine that Scott had passed, I was shocked . . . people like him are supposed to stick around for a LONG time !!
The competition in the heavenly curling club just got a WHOLE LOT more intense, without getting any the less enjoyable.
Have a safe trip Scott.
