Jane and family. I was very sorry to hear of John's passing, in the latest issue of CDS newsletter. John was my family's vet for both our dogs and horses. He was always caring and compassionate. It was under his influence that I decided to become a vet as well, and then joined him in his practices in Richmond Hill and Thornhill, upon graduation. Unfortunately we did not stay in contact after I left in the mid 80's. I hope that your many memories and all of his friends remembrances help with this hard time amid the Covid pandemic.
Sincerely
Don Dawson DVM

Jane, so very sorry learning of John’s passing. My heart goes out to you and your family.
Decades ago, we met when I began working for John at the clinic. Happily you, John, Alan and I became
good friends, although over the years drifted apart through different journeys in our lives. Our friendship always remained in our hearts. Sadly, Alan passed suddenly on July 20, 2020 5 months, 5 days prior to John. We almost made our 52th Anniversary,
Sept 5th and we all were 76. I imagine them laughing together, above the clouds, in the gold and the blue of the skies. Never were they together that they were not laughing. Makes my heart smile.
Jane, stay safe and God Bless ❤️

I was so saddened and sorry to hear of Dr. Mollards passing. My sincere condolences to Jane and the family. I worked for John at the clinic in the mid to late 70’s when I was in high school. I had such a great time working for him. Often on Saturday morning he would arrive with Peter and Andrew and I would help watch them while he saw patients. We had great fun on those mornings and he loved showing off the boys to his clients. He was always smiling and had such great energy. He would often go for lunch and play a quick game of squash or two and would be back and ready to go. He loved sharing about the Muskoka Lakes Regattas as would I about our regatta in Stephens Bay, Muskoka. He was a wonderful man and I admired him greatly. He’s been taken to soon. I hope that you all find some peace in the wonderful memories you shared as a family. Rest In Peace John

Jane and our extended Toronto family,
Saddened to learn of John’s passing. I have fond memories of times shared with him during summer vacations at Scugog. Our adult paths unfortunately rarely crossed. The last I think at his Dad’s funeral. Remember a fun loving teen with a great smile and love for the outdoors. I’m glad to have had him in my life. God bless you all and help you to remember all the good times.

I think of Dr. Mollard and the Mollard as one of those "foundational" families that gave the CDS community the strength and vibrance befitting it today, making my Mollard memories merry. (say that 3x fast! :)
May his smile and guidance from beyond be a source of strength to those who grieve his passing.

Jane, you probably don't remember, but, my first wife Ann and I socialized with you and John almost 50 years ago when we lived on Martin Street in King City. I liked John, very much, he was a super guy and a great Vet for our many animals.
John gave us a cat called Minxie who, I think, was your cat who nobody other than myself liked. She was a tiny brown Burmese who had the attitude of a lion and I loved dearly. I also recall that John and I had the same colour Corvette and any time the Police said they saw me speeding on King Side Road, I said that it wasn't me it was John.
Anyway, Jane, I am very sorry for your loss and, as my second wife passed away 7 years ago, I can assure you that life will not be better without John, life won't be worse, eventually life will just be different.
Good luck and keep smiling.

Dear Jane and family,
I am so saddened to hear of your dear John’s passing - husband, father, grandfather. You are family to a great man. His passionate convictions for so many things were made most obvious through the love and respect he showed all of you. I remember he would walk often with Jane in Muskoka, precious couple time in his crazy busy vet/businessman/father life. He made time to paddle, kayak and row with so many of you any chance he could, even after running the cottage hill with 10 pound weights in hand for his own regatta training! At the many “Deerlick” dinners we were fortunate to share with John we witnessed first hand this devotion to and appreciation for his wife and family. In particular, the respect and adoration he had for Jane at these times was compelling, making the gatherings most enjoyable and memorable.
I first met John at the start line of a canoe race, and he has been a fierce and worthy competitor ever since. As a member of the Country Day School Board of Directors, he championed my cause as a prospective teacher hire. As a Veterinarian, John rendered expert care to my dogs. He was a frequent paddling partner in the bow of my canoe - always pushing the limits on the regatta race course. The canoe would simply LAUNCH when his wide wooden paddle blade plunged into the water! Most importantly, however, John was my friend.
John will always be at the regatta with me. He will be pushing my limits, challenging me to paddle into old age just as he did. I will remember him in so many ways; walking the dock with his knee pads on, adjusting his leather racing gloves, taking up his stance in his shiny wooden canoe, paddling to the start, charging the race course, racing with his kids, racing with his grandkids. I know racing with his family were his most favourite races of all.
On my own mother’s passing, his quiet words of condolence to me at the regatta were poignant and so very true. He told me that I had given my mother the best thing I ever could have - her grandchildren. I pass that delightful sentiment from him on now to you. Collectively you have given John those things that mattered most to him - your very being.
Thank you all for the love and care you have given to my friend John these many years. May you find great peace in this time of both loss and yet celebration also. We are all truly blessed to have had him in our lives.
Sincerely and with love,
Wendy Blogg Anderson

Dr Mollard was our vet to our poodle Arley in the late 60’s to 83. I then went back to him after I was married for our golden Paris up until his retirement . He was an amazing vet and always spoke of his family and what they were all doing and proudly displayed his canoeing pictures in his office! I believe taken 20 years apart at a regatta! May he Rest In Peace surrounded by all his animal companions . Love and prayers to the Mollard family . Barb ( Hemmerick) Emblem

Dr. Mollard was our vet from the moment we moved into Richmond Hill and commenced pet ownership, which included to his retirement 8 felines over an approximate 35 year period.
We always had great chats about his interests of travel and more. Most importantly as our pets vet we were confident in his skills and care.
Our sincere condolences to his family. Carolyn & Myles Gordon
