Obituary of Vera Lana Niblett
Vera Lana Niblett passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 87 years of age in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved and cared for her.
She will be profoundly missed by her husband George of 37 years, he loved her more than anything. Her beloved children Newell (Pam), Nadine and Spencer, who she gave her heart and soul to, also by her grandchildren Courtney, Hayley, Andrew and Daniel. “Mrs Niblett” will also be greatly missed by her housekeeper Maria, dear friend and confidant for 34 years as well as her caregiver and friend Elizabeth who was by her side throughout her illness for the past three years.
She will be remembered by all for her style, grace, kindness, generosity and joie de vivre in life. Her infectious smile had the ability to brighten any room she entered. Vera enjoyed travelling the world with her beloved husband George; Morocco, Egypt, South America, Korea, Italy, multiple African Safaris, together they traversed the Great Wall of China and boated up the Amazon. She especially enjoyed England best, when her son Spencer lived there, visiting castles and even the home of Shakespeare. Her life was bright and full of adventure, one of always thinking of others.
Vera, was a former VP of Ridley College Ladies Guild, which she thoroughly enjoyed. As a member of many clubs, Rosedale, Granite, Muskoka Lakes and Ocean Reef, her presence will be missed by many.
Vera was laid to rest on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with a small private service. The family wishes to honor her memory in a more meaningful way in the months to come.
