Forever In Your Heart
Feel no guilt in laughter, she’d know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; she would not want you to.
She’d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say
Will suddenly re-capture a time, an hour a day,
That brings her back so clearly as though she were still here,
And fills you with the feeling that she is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart
And she will live forever locked safely in your heart.

Sweet beautiful Mommy of ours, you never ever stopped being our Mom, it was 'always' all about us kids and family, for all of us our world revolved around you and Daddy and family.
Both you and Daddy instilled in us kids the same qualities that you held true to in life, to be loving, kind and respectful onto others and nature, for us to be strong independent women, for us to work hard and earn own pay and to make certain we can hold our own and pave our own paths down the roads of our lives.
Even in these olden golden years of yours you were always strong willed, independent, funny and you always had a positive outlook on life. We could not slow you down if we tried, out getting your exercise, out socializing, right on the ball with your funny smart witty humour and you were still trying to keep us kids...adults all in line. As the saying goes 'it's hard to keep a good woman down'. You are our super woman, our hero and one amazing woman to aspire to be like.
From when we were wee kids you and Daddy wanted us to see and experience nature, frogs, snakes, fishing, camp fires, water sking and then some. Both you and Daddy worked all week then you'd rush home and pack up the car every weekend to get us out of the big city. I was about 1 year old and you were drying my cloth diapers over a camp fire. As we got older and into our teen years you were both 'determined' to get us girls out of the city way up north and away from boys so that you could keep a closer eye on us girls. Then once we were adults we all got our own weekend homestead getaway spots on the same lake so we could all be together each and every weekend. Once we packed that in, we all just found other things to do so we could all be together.
Young or older, here, there and everywhere...you name it and we experienced it because of both of you. We can say "been there, done that" to so very many great times, great places, great friends shared and great experiences in our lives. The best part is we all did 'life together' with many laughs, many smiles and many a great memory made and shared.
There is no other like you Mommy, you are one of a kind, you are the BEST of the best, this is how we all have all been' blessed' with our having you by our sides and in our lives.
You left your mark and sparkle of love with Daddy, all of us and with all the many lives you touched and all the many along the way that you made smile during your remarkable long journey.
You and Daddy and our other missed loved ones are together now, we know all of you will be watching over us on the rest of life's journey and we be talking to all of you each and everyday like we always have done. You are forever loved and missed.
Tomorrow we raise a glass of cheer on your 100th Birthday to honour the amazing you and the amazing life you lead.
With much love and much gratitude always, your baby girl Lorraine xoxox

My Dear Sweet Mommy,
Let me start off by saying "YOU" are the Best!! You will be remembered by your Family and so many people that loved you and that you loved as well. A true testament to the most Kindest ,Generous,Warmest Soul I have ever met!.. You will be missed dearly. You made my world a much better place simply by being you. I love you more than words can say and I always will. I can remember back so many years ago when we first met. I think we were both unsure and nervous of meeting lol..But with the Love, Respect, and Caring of all the great things you stood for we became very close and shared a lot of special moments together, loving you more everyday! From Road trips to Fish n Chips...and everything in between.
You had quite the journey in your life from surviving the war, to relocating to another country and starting a life with you and your love Jimmy, and all the changes that made history. You not only raised 3 Fantastic and Beautiful girls but also installed all great qualities in them as well. They will carry on all of your beautiful traits, Love, Understanding, Patience, and Humour, not to mention a few others - I see a bit of you in each one of them.
Thank You for all the time we spent together learning about each other and sharing stories and smiles along with a few tears. Our lives are all made up of a series of Moments, Big ones and Small ones and Life changing ones. These will be the ones in my Memories of You, I will hold onto them forever and keep them safe...Wherever You may be, whether your holding Daddy's hand on a stroll or on a bench with Paul, or with all your loved ones and friends that were waiting to see you again or perhaps at a Rock n Roll concert.
I will miss your voice and chats we had so much.. but remember to listen close for the words that I whisper to YOU everyday saying "I Love You " and "Thank You" for being You! and for everything You have done for me, and until we see each other again my Mommy, know that we will all take care of each other and I will look out for your girls. All my Love and Respect. xoxo "Your Boy"...Rick.

To my sweet beautiful Momma Mia, I send this message to you in heaven, it comes with so much love.
I don’t know where to begin to tell you how much you mean to me, to us. How truly lucky and blessed we are to have you for our Mom.
You are our Super Mom. You always put your family before yourself from the day we were all born. You never bought yourself anything, you always made certain that we kids had everything we needed first and foremost. You worked so hard, you maintained a “Dutch clean” home, looked after all of us girls, held down many jobs to make ends meet even working nights so you could also look after your children through the day.
You and Daddy taught us so much. Right from wrong, how to be strong, honesty and loyalty, love and compassion, how to be humble, to appreciate the little things, to appreciate the wonderful nature around us, to never judge a person by their cover, how in hard times to remember there are others going through worse to think of them, to be kind/respectful and considerate to all, to be strong women independent women, how to stand up for ourselves and stand up what’s right, all these and so much more. We will be forever grateful for all you’ve given us and taught us.
You are our Super Senior. You swam lengths of the pool daily until you were 85. You still cooked your own meals until you were 95, You kept your own condo until you were 98. You still hand washed some of your own closes to this day. You didn’t stop dying your hair until you were 92. Remember when you wanted to get a passport at age 90 or so and as we were filling out the documents it asked for hair colour. We laughed our butts off because we wanted to write down Nice ‘n Easy 102.
You are our Rock. I remember you saying that you and Dad are not going to live forever and if you don’t go out of this world together then you hope Daddy goes first because you need some time on your own (LOL). Well, that did come to be the case, and you lived 14 years as your own totally independent woman for the first time in your life at the age of 86. You proved to all of us what a strong woman you were. You got through 3 floods from the above floors. a wicked spread of bed bugs, even days without power through that ice storm. Each time we’d ask how you’re doing, do you want to come and stay with one of us for a bit. but no not you Momma, you’d say “I lived through a war you know, I can do this”. It was also in this last flood you showed us again what a wonderful heart you had. On top of all the renovations that had to be done in your place and the hallways themselves you opened your doors to all the workmen. You offered them water and coffee, your washroom should they need it, and you even let one lady change her clothes after work because she had and important occasion right after work and was short on time.
Mommy we so loved our life with you and Daddy. We always had so much fun with you both, from our childhood days, even through those somewhat testy teen years, right through to our adult years. We have so many great memories to treasure. Our camping holidays, our fun filled trailer days, the happiest of Christmas’s, family reunions Christmas Eve, our gatherings in each other’s homes/back yards/your condo, through to all the good times shared at McCowan. All these good times were filled with love and laughter, and of course our “never a dull moment, will never forget this” memories.
You, my dearest Mommy, were our world and our world will never be the same without you in it. You have touched so many lives and whomever met you instantly loved you.
Our saving grace is that you are now with our Daddy again, and our much loved family members that we’ve had to also say goodbye to along the way. We know there was quite the reception up there upon your arrival.
We will all miss you so, so much, and you are loved more than words could ever say. I know you’ll be watching over all of us down here and we’ll be looking above talking to you each and every day as we have done with our phone calls all these years.
We were truly blessed with the best and blessed to have had you for such a wonderful long time.
Thank you so much for everything Mom and guess what … I LOVE YOU !!!!

My sweet Mom, you touched the lives and hearts of so many people. You were that kind of woman, loving, kind, funny, smart. You lit up a room when you walked into it. Everybody loved you the moment they met you. It shows with the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone around us. I remember camping every summer and having so much fun as a kid and as a family. When we were little you would sit with a pail of water and a face cloth beside your chair and every time one of us kids came within your reach you would grab us and give our hands and faces a good wash, then let us run off and play again. Dad taught us about nature and responsibility and you taught us about life and respect. You both taught us about love, you made honest, independent, hard working, loving, caring women out of us kids. We followed both your examples. We were so very proud of you and Dad and we had the best life growing up. Thank you for being the wonderful Momma you were. You will always be in our hearts and we will love and miss you every single day. I love you so much Mom. Have fun with Dad and our other loved ones on your 100th Birthday. We will all raise a glass of cheer and like we told you, so will the Queen lol We will see you all again some day sweet Momma. xo xo xo
