This is such a sad time and our hearts go out to Linda Lindsay and Alanna. Our memories of Pat are not individual ones as time spent with him was with the whole family. We knew Linda before Pat and Linda got together and Pat welcomed us as friends and as time went on as family. Having no family here this was a blessing sharing so many family times. Many Boxing Days and the big Scottish celebration New years Day. Steak and kidney pie and Scottish trifle a must!!!!. Also the odd liquid refreshment. You will be missed by us Pat but we will continue to love your family Thanks for you friendship
All our love Eddie & DorisX

It's hard to believe that we've known each other for more than 35 years. We have fond memories of playground gatherings, street conversations and, of course, those wonderful neighbourhood parties.
Farewell dear neighbour.

So sad to hear that there will be no more cheerful hellos or friendly conversations
during my walks down Longboat Ave. Patrick and I shared many delightful
conversations over the years, as our daughters grew up side by side. I
will miss his welcoming smile, his contagious laugh and his readily shared
nuggets of wisdom. Our chatty encounters spanned a wide range of topics
but family, community and the kid's school (my workplace) were by far Patrick's preferences for discussion
Patrick was never shy to let you know how deeply he loved his wife and daughters. We also both enjoyed sharing
the ups and downs of our lives. Patrick had a very soft heart behind a sometimes gruff
exterior that he showed me with offers of help when I was raising my daughter. Patrick
was a friend who will be remembered and sincerely missed.

The world ‘side by each’ between #10 & #12 Longboat has tilted. What will life be over the fence without Patrick?
When I come out to BBQ – who will ask “what are you burning tonight”?
Who will I talk to about the day’s events and articles in the Star?
Who will I discuss the latest ‘political’ story with – of course Patrick taking the opposing view point for the sake of the ‘debate’?
How can I win the next World Cup Pool without my ‘partners’ input?
Who will make sure my garden lights are working each Spring?
Who will I share a glass of scotch with?
Patrick, you grumpy old fart - I will miss you!
Rest in peace my friend xxoo

Thinking of Patrick with a wee bit of Rabbie Burns ...
Taken from Holy Willie's Prayer:
Remember me and mine
Wi' mercies temporal and divine!
That I for grace and gear may shine,
Excell'd by name!
And a' the glory shall be thine!
Amen! Amen!
Always in our thoughts
With love

Just a wee note to say that my heart is with you all. I loved to hear of Patrick’s stories especially his ‘12 dollar Canadian’ experience. Still so proud to see myself as a wee girl giving you a lucky horse shoe at your wedding Linda too. Ernest and I are so glad to have spent time with him and your all in Toronto and we treasure those memories. He will always be in our hearts and we will be with you on Saturday raising a glass to our dear Patrick

For nearly 40 years Patrick & Linda have been my neighbours and more importantly friends. Our children grew up together and Patrick was always a presence. With Patrick’s passing I lose a neighbor, a friend and another piece of our history when we were young, raising children, dancing and solving the world’s problems over a pint. Cheers Patrick you will be missed.

We have many fond memories of our friend and neighbour. We will miss chatting with Patrick as he stood on the front stoop.
Our conversations and bantering varied on many subjects. Patrick enjoyed reading and we exchanged bags of books. Sometimes, the same book exchanged until Patrick suggested we put our initial in the front cover.
Patrick, was very proud of his family and he will be misses by many.
