Hannah Legh-Jones

Obituary of Hannah Louise Legh-Jones

It is with unthinkable sadness that our family announces the sudden and tragic death of Hannah Legh-Jones on August 21, 2019, at the age of 32. Hannah was a ray of light to everyone who knew her—vibrant, talkative and generous, typically smiling and always full of warmth. She was a devoted daughter to Trish and an adoring big sister to Ali. She is pre-deceased by her dad, George, whom Hannah lost as a child and loved dearly. Hannah was passionate about health and sports, particularly running, biking, yoga and ultimate frisbee. Her passion went beyond practice; she earned two related degrees from Queen’s University—an Honours B.A. in health and French studies and a M.Sc. in epidemiology and health promotion. In 2017, she added to her academic accomplishments with a graduate certificate in marketing management from Humber College.

Hannah found incredible happiness six years ago when she met the love of her life, Greg, whom she married last March. They built a loving home together on Roncey Ave., sharing their mutual obsession with ultimate frisbee and their fondness for cooking and craft beer. With Greg, Hannah kept pursuing her love of travel, adding India and Spain to Greece, Italy and an undergraduate year in the U.K. She was a devoted friend to a close circle of fellow frisbee-lovers, and adored her young nieces and nephews. Her energy, quick-wit, strength and kindness will be missed desperately by her Legh-Jones and Schabas families. We grieve losing her at the prime of her life, with so much still ahead of her.
