Dear Trish and Greg,
A week after seeing you at Hannah’s visitation, I am thinking about you as Morneau Shepell has been full of reminders of Hannah and the positive energy and fun she brought to all of her endeavours, even those some may label a little “dry”. I was fortunate enough to spend five months working closely with Hannah on the proposals team, both from a project and proximity perspective (she sat beside me), then another seven months where we saw each other a few days a week, largely driven by brewing up whatever coffee she or Mark had brought in for our little coffee club.
All of the 7th floor proposal team are foodies and we had frequent discussions about the merits of or preferences for certain foods. Even though Hannah brought her (amazing) lunches almost every day, she was a frequent contributor to our lunch discussions and on occasion she joined us for roti, Vietnamese food or whatever the team decided on for that day. We heard several stories about Hannah and Greg’s cooking adventures - she definitely knew the value of a good knife.
We also had the opportunity to debate the merits of various craft beers a few times when we made it out socially and Hannah’s sense of fun was on display whether in the office or outside of it. Her dedication to living an environmentally friendly life and doing every little thing she could to have a smaller footprint on the planet always inspired me to try harder to do more where I could have a direct impact.
Our office has been a little quieter and more sombre this week as our team and other co-workers remember Hannah and talk about how much her presence touched them. I’d like you to know in some way how much she affected those she worked with directly and some with whom she only had a brief interaction.
Her smiling face, helpful nature, and determination to always do her best will be sorely missed at Morneau Shepell. I hope you can draw some comfort from knowing how truly esteemed Hannah was by all of us who had the good fortune to know her.

Trish, Ali, and Greg,
I am sending you so much love and the biggest hug. I am so deeply sorry. I feel at a loss for words, and yet feel like I have so much to say... I was a close friend of Hannah's at Queen's - we first met at the castle, and that's where our friendship found its roots. We stayed close throughout the four years of University - going to yoga together, dancing our hearts out at Ale House or with the Queen's Dance Club, catching up over meals and sangria at the Queen's Pub -- to name a few of our favorite activities. Hannah felt like a 5th roommate at the house I lived in-- 192 University Ave-- given how much time she spent there with us. It pains me that we only stayed in touch sporadically, and only saw each other a couple of times post-graduation... Greg - I had the joy of meeting you in Toronto five years ago - and it brought me great joy knowing Hannah had a partner like you in her life.
As you know, Hannah was such a delightful human. I feel fortunate to have known her and to have gotten to be in her presence. I am so incredibly sad she is gone. It's the hardest pill I've ever had to swallow and I can only imagine how difficult it is for you all. I hope you have support, and that you're able to take good care of yourselves as hard as that may be. Sending you all my love.
With deep love and empathy,
Caitlin

Hannah, if I could bring you back again, I would do so to just make that phone call I had meant to make to say congratulations on your wedding. I would express all my unspoken joy that you at last joined the club. I am sorry I did not, but I promise to keep your number for as long as I can.
Knowing you for less than a year at LGB-MOH was a joy. As one of my young friends, you were always open to my old-styled thinking while treasuring your own in a humorous way. Your presence within OOC team and LGB in general meant more than we ever knew.
Within the short time we met, you shared a lot, not forgetting the 50th Birthday cake you made and brought for me. Being a selective eater as many know, that cake was among the few foods I carried home after the party, knowing very well it was not commercially made, but rather home-baked by you Hannah. Words cannot express how I ache inside, but I promise to find a brighter tomorrow from all I knew and got to know after your passing.
I know you are in a better place right now than you ever been before. All pain is gone; Rest Hannah, nothing will trouble you anymore.
To Hannah’s family, as you go through this tough time, know that you are not alone. May the lord shower you with peace to recuperate. Until we meet Hannah again, “We shall overcome”.

Trish, Ali & Greg,
Words cannot undo or mend what has been so suddenly lost, but I do hope these words bring you some peace and a ray of joy knowing Hannah touched so many people in her short time here, and that part of her will always live on through us and especially through you three.
Hannah and I met in graduate school. Her, Amanda and I became an inseparable tripod rarely finding us apart on weekends.
In our second year, Hannah and I moved in together in the heart of downtown Kingston. Although it was a tough year for us both, we supported each other every way we knew how to. She was always so sweet and giving. She baked the most delicious desserts, taught me how to cook vegetarian meals (literally, I didn’t know what lentils and chickpeas were before her), inspired me with her long runs and her commitment to her health and well being. Hannah even volunteered to help do counts for my masters thesis, she said it would look good for her resume but really I knew it was just her finding another way to help a friend.
After our time in Kingston, I moved out west and despite reuniting and catching up those first few years we regrettably lost touch.
Regardless of the distance, I always found joy in seeing her face smiling in some photo on social media. It brought me comfort to know and hear how much happiness she had found with Greg.
My short time with Hannah has shaped me for the better. She was the beginning of my vegetarian life and passion for running. She is regrettably also now a reminder for us all that life is short, it is precious and to strive to live each day with a big Hannah smile.
I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. She was a shining light, that I know will remain lit in our hearts forever.

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to Hannah's family. I am heartbroken to hear of Hannah's passing. I worked with Hannah at Morneau Shepell, and she brought light and warmth to any room she entered. She was kind, funny, considerate, attentive, and smart -- truly one of the loveliest people I have ever met.
Hannah was adored by all of her co-workers, and she became a friend to each of us. Even when she moved to a different department, she would regularly visit us, her former team, to chat and drink coffee. She was able to have a serious, meaningful conversation one moment, then easily switch to saying something silly that could make you laugh out loud the next moment. Hannah will be greatly missed, and she will never be forgotten.
