My most sincere condolences to Ken's family on his passing. My enduring memory of Ken occurred during the very early days of my time at Scarlett Heights Collegiate back in September 1972 as a nervous "niner". I was making my way through the halls trying to navigate to a class when I happened on Mr. Scovell who stopped me, he then paused and addressed me -- out of the blue -- by my first and last name and inquired as to where I was heading. I was blown away by his amazing ability to recall my name and to this day I still don't know how he could have done it. But it wasn't just me, others would tell the same story. For the rest of my time at Scarlett Heights, we would occasionally pass each other in a hallway and almost on queue he would bid me hello -- by name. He was a kind man, a great administrator, a fantastic ambassador for the school, and someone who made every student feel welcomed.
