Obituary of Karen Fabro

Karen Louise Fabro
(nee White)
November 11,1939 to October 19, 2018
______________
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Fabro, on Friday October 19, 2018 at age 78.   Karen passed peacefully surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of Gregory for 53 years, loving mother to Mark (Carin Jennifer Moffat), Michael and Jason (Olya Nekrasova) and cherished grandmother to Isabella.  She is proceeded by her parents Myrtle and Claude White, step father William Bartlett, and sister Doreen.
Raised in Sault Saint Marie, Karen graduated from the University of Western Ontario and was a dedicated nurse for more than 40 years touching the lives of countless families. A true hockey mom and sports fan, she was one of the first female certified hockey coaches in Canada's minor hockey program and the greatest ambassador to each of her son's sports endeavors. Over the years she supported many clubs including Leaside, North Toronto and St. Michael's. When not at sporting events she enjoyed the cottage life relishing her summers at Halls Lake and being up north with friends. Above all she was a beacon to her three sons, perpetually helping, advising and guiding them through all aspects of life.
While Karen will be deeply missed by her family, colleagues and friends, there is no doubt her shine, wit and strength will continue to resonate with all those blessed to have been part of her life.
