Obituary of Joyce Grimes

JOYCE GRIMES

January 25, 1930 – September 12, 2018

Joyce passed away peacefully at North York Seniors Healthcare Centre on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Loving wife of John (d.1990) and Frederick Kingsford (d. 2011) and mother of Paul (Denise) and Peter (Maricar Tardecilla).  Devoted grandmother to Fraser and Spencer Grimes.  Joyce later welcomed into her family Heather and John Thiffault, and Anne and John Freel and grandchildren; Matthew, Jeremy, Nathaniel, Emily and Zachary.

Joyce had a love of music and was founder and owner of Joyce Grimes Studio of Music in Oakville and was a long-standing member of the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators’ Association.

The family wishes to thank the staff at North York General Hospital Seniors' Health Centre for their compassion and care.

Friends may call at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018.  A private family funeral will be held on Tuesday.  In lieu flowers, donations to North York General Hospital Seniors’ Healthcare Centre would be appreciated.  Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
