I had the pleasure of working with Joshua for 10 years at East York Collegiate. He and I worked closely together. When I was asked to do the guidance part of co-op, I jumped at the chance to work with Joshua. He was always friendly and was a great listener. Whenever I would have a bad day, he could make it better.
He always made sure I was included any co-op activities and even took me out on his rounds with him so I could see what the students were doing.
He loved his students and enjoyed teaching.
I left East York in 1999 and did not see him much afterwards, but when I did I was always given a warm embrace.
He was a true gentleman and he will be missed.
I spent the last year in Italy and hear from Joshua while I was away. I was hoping that on my return I would get a chance to meet up with him.
I am sorry I did not get to the funeral as I am recovering from surgery. My plan is that once I am able to walk a good distance I will pay him a visit at Mount Pleasant.cemetary and place a flower on his grave.
