My sincere condolences to all of Lynn's family. As a fellow genealogical researcher (In England), I exchanged many letters and e-mails with Lynn regarding Loach family trees, and was helped greatly by the extensive information he had collected over many years directly from family members. I do hope that the valuable information that he amassed will be preserved for future generations. Sadly I never met Lynn on one of his visits to the UK, but his letters were constantly informative and imbued with his unique sense of humour. We did at least speak on the phone on one occasion. I am sure that Fred and Margaret LOACH of Coventry (whom Lynn visited several times) would wish to add their sympathies --- sadly Fred is no longer able to use the internet, so I will add this on their behalf. R.I.P Lynn --- a life well spent.

Dear Mary Ann (and children) I am sorry to hear of our loss, but proud to have shared the skills of Lynn and yourself in attempting to save my father's life. I have been able to use the knowledge gained to save a number of family members from the ravages of the hereditary haemachromatotis which continues to threaten some generations of our extended family. On a personal note, I will remember the pleasure of sharing neighbourly times together, and especially touring Lynn's dahlia garden. I regret that geography has restricted closer contact, and will not allow me to share a few minutes with you on Friday. But my thoughts of a man who has given so much to his community will be with you. Sincerely, Keith Ritchie

I wish to extend my condolences to the entire family. I think of Dr. Loach with such gratitude as he was instructor in medical school and was both willing to share his knowledge and ensured that we became skillful clinicians. When my own father got sick, Dr. Loach was the person I called upon to look after him. Amazingly, I then ended up working at Princess Margaret with David, whom I too admire for being such an adept and caring physician. He he is a true testament to his father. I believe that Lynn's legacy lives on through us all.

Dear Family of Dr Loach, As a former intern supervised by Dr. Loach, in 1972 at the TGH, I want to convey my acknowledgement of his contribution to my professional life - I have always been inspired by his care and respect for patients and his deep, intense grasp of what ailed them, both physically and emotionally. He could sense it from the doorway or with a few simple questions. He has always been my idea of the best doctor I have known. My condolences for your loss. May he rest peacefully after many tasks so well done.

More than 4 decades ago, as a medical student, I had one of my first oral exams with Dr. Loach. His reputation preceded him and I was, frankly, terrified. I gave a serviceable history and physical report. Dr. Loach pointed to a physical finding that I had missed, and said "What is this?". I blurted out "stretch marks!". He said "Well, perhaps that is what they call it in the Ladies Home Journal, but what do doctors call it?". "Um, striae?" "That is correct." he said, turned on his heel and left the room. I passed.
