We will always remember Hugh for his incredible joie de vivre!!! He brought a great energy to his passions! We so enjoyed his charm and humour! His love of Georgian Bay was contagious and he was kind enough to share his cottage and fun boat ride with us. We will always cherish his recitation of poetry and songs, especially his exuberant version of the Pirates of Penzance.
Kevin and I extend our sincerest condolences for your loss and are sorry we won’t be able to be there in person to help celebrate with you a life well lived!

Carolyn, Hugh was a great man. He had a ready smile and even though he said so little, I knew that he understood people.
He was a handsome man, who had a long life.
I loved his smile and the way he understood life. It was always nice to see both of you downstairs enjoying the music.
Friends always, Jennifer Bruce (Volunteer Coffee Service.)

I was much saddened to see that Hughie had died, a friend from our days at Rosedale Public School. Today I spoke to Libby (Faulkner) Brooks, another old schoolmate, and we both remembered him fondly as one of those "nice guys" from some 80 (!!) years ago. I used to run into him at Waddington's auctions, for we both had an interest in Inuit carvings. He tended to be selling, while I was buying. A great guy still, and he'll be missed.
