It is with the deepest sadness and respect that we mourn the loss of Eric Foss, age 57, who died peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018.

Eric was a loving husband and proud father who passionately devoted his professional life to journalism.  His work with the CBC had him cover events in over fifty countries, producing award-winning pieces such as Beyond Words: Photographers of War.  He handled every situation with composure, professionalism, and never turned down an opportunity to mentor, assist, and befriend.  He is survived by his wife Denise, daughter Gabrielle, son Samuel, mother Pat, siblings Krista, Nils, Tor, his nieces, nephews, and extended Foss and McLean families.  Eric is predeceased by his father John, and sister Katrine.

A private funeral service will be held for the Foss and McLean families at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue).  Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of Eric’s life on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the CBC, 250 Front Street West, Toronto.  Donations in memory of Eric can be made to the Odette Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.  Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
