Jim, Janet and family, I am so very sorry to read of Paul's death. It brings back so many happy memories of our life as children, growing up together on Hoyle Ave. Mr and Mrs Rowney Sr. were such a lovely couple and always so pleasant to all of us "kids".
Maurice Cody, NTCI, music etc. are the best memories I have of Paul.

Gordon and I were so sad upon learning of Paul's sudden passing. He was so close to us both as our neighbour and friend through our young and teenage years. He helped my brother Gordon especially when our mother Kay died suddenly in 1959. And he took Gord for a long trip across Canada to help him. We have such fond memories of him and the Rowney family. Our sincere wishes to Janet and his children in this time of sadness.

We were sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. He was a favourite of my mother’s, Margaret Drynan (nee Brown) and we always enjoyed talking to him at my Aunt Mary’s parties.

Paul came to Maurice Cody when the neighbourhood was in transition and changed the atmosphere at the school to one of positive inclusiveness and collaboration, My sons all went there and I was proud to call Paul (and Pat) a friend as well as a great principal.

I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing... and so relatively soon after Pat's death.Let's trust they are together again. They are such a great couple.
I knew your folks from living in Leaside Towers ,though my late husband who was the Vocal teacher At North Toronto CI seemed to have connections with Pat through Maurice Cody.
With love

Sad news passed on to us via Loise, Pat's sister. Paul was such a kind and gentle man and will be missed by all who new him. The love story never ended between him and Pat, now they will both be with the angels hand in hand forever.

Dear Cathy,
I have many memories of Paul when I worked for him in an east end kindergarten. I still remember the day he came in to ask if you could be a volunteer in my classroom. I was grateful to have more help! That class of 18 had so many troubled children. We needed to have 3 adults just to make it work. I loved Paul and you for making my year so much fun while he gave me every resource possible to ensure the kids' success! He was a fantastic, out of the box thinker who cared about every student and staff member under his leadership. An added bonus in my case (usually): he knew everything that happened in our room as he was an astute examiner of Cathy at dinner!! Sometimes he knew what I needed before I asked. Paul was a caring, funny, smart principal! I am honoured to have worked with him.
My deepest sympathies to you and the whole family.
Sincerely,
Lisa McNair
p.s. I am sorry to miss any celebrations of life as I'm out of the country till mid March.
