Obituary of Susan Jane Reid

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2017 surrounded by family at Sunnybrook Hospital’s K-Wing. Susan is survived by her loving and admiring husband, Andy; her son, James; her daughter, Jennifer (with her husband, Sean Mulvenna); and her grandchildren, Matthew and Lindsay. She is also survived by her sister Mary Anne, and nieces Catherine, Laura and Sandra. Susan was pre-deceased by her brother Baron and her parents, Ted and Jane McCormick.

On May 6, 2017, Susan and Andy celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. Throughout her full life Sue had an uncanny ability to remember names and faces and to establish and accumulate life-long friendships. Despite facing progressive health challenges, she always retained her smile, her cheerful attitude, her curiosity and her sense of humour.

The family would like to thank the many friends and extended family whose cards, personal visits and expressions of concern were so welcome by Sue as she faced her difficult future with truly admirable grace and serenity. The family would also like to thank the medical staff at The Odette Centre, Sunnybrook Hospital, and especially at K-Wing for their care and compassion when it was needed the most.

Visitation will be held at Lawrence Park Community Church (2180 Bayview Ave) on Thursday October 5, 7-9 pm. The service will be held at Lawrence Park Community Church on Friday October 6 at 11 am.
