I met Atsuko in a Japanese class at the University of Michigan one summer. While she was at Yale I visited her in New Haven and she stayed with me and my family for a few days in Boston. We lost contact until I called her one day when I was in Toronto a few years ago with my wife.
Atsuko was such a nice person and I am so sad to learn of her passing.
