Obituary of Nancy Jean Partridge (nee Lighthall)

October 20, 1943 – September 23, 2017

We announce the death of Nancy Partridge with great sadness, but with profound gratitude for her life.  Nancy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home in Toronto.  Cherished and lovingly remembered by her husband, David, her daughters, Dr. Emily Partridge (son-in-law Brad Richardson) and Tobi Poloway, and her grandchildren, Erica and Braden Poloway.  Nancy grew up in Hawkesbury, Ontario, and she was a graduate of the Kingston General Hospital School of Nursing (R.N. 1966) and Queens University (Bachelor of Nursing Science, 1967).  She taught nursing science at Kingston, Oshawa and Toronto before returning home to raise her two daughters.  Nancy was a keen reader and she delighted in belonging to book clubs in Edmonton and Toronto.  A lifelong Anglican, Nancy was always involved in church activities wherever she went, most recently with the Chancel Guild at St. Paul’s Bloor Street in Toronto.  She was a true force to all who knew her, loved her family deeply and was a faithful friend to many.  A funeral service will be held in ST. PAUL’S BLOOR STREET, 227 Bloor Street East, Toronto at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017.  Donations can be made to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Mount Sinai Hospital, 60 Murray Street, Toronto M5T 3L9.  Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
