To Elaine, Keith, Christy and all of Jean's family, Jean was a very good friend to me during our years of playing music together, first in the Don Mills Night School Band, the Thornhill Community Band and the East York Community Band. We spent many evenings chatting together on our drives to and from band, and at the same time solving the problems of the world (if people would only listen to us! ) Jean was a very caring person and I appreciated her wry sense of humor. I and others admired Jean for continuing to play clarinet with the EYCB for as long as she felt she could. She showed great determination and inner strength. Thank you Elaine, for telephoning me with this sad news. Unfortunately I am out of town and thus unable to extend you my sincere sympathies in person.

I had the pleasure of Jean's company for many Monday nights at the East York Concert Band's rehearsals. I so admired her fortitude to continue with the band when it couldn't have been an easy physical task to make it to practice. Please accept my sincere condolences for your great loss.

Philip and I are so happy that we were able to see your mother a few weeks ago for lunch at her residence. As always, Jean had a sweet smile on her face and never complained despite her many health challenges. She was a lovely person and will be deeply missed. Philip Murton and Deanna Dunn
