Obituary of Sharon Lane

Sharon passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 58.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Jamie, her father Carl, her mother Bev, and her siblings Nancy and Scott. 

Sharon was born on October 24, 1958 in Hamilton, Ontario. She grew up in Ancaster, Ontario and attended Ancaster High School. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1978 with a degree in Physical Education.  She furthered her education, receiving both a Masters of Business Administration and a Law degree.  Sharon was also an accomplished track & field athlete, being accepted to Canada’s Olympic team, as well as receiving a silver medal in the 1979 Pan-American Games in Puerto Rico.

In recent years, Sharon worked as a residential realtor for Chestnut Park and Sotheby’s. Outside the office, Sharon enjoyed playing golf, skiing, running, and taking long walks with her dogs in her beloved ravine.  Sharon was a loving mother, daughter, friend, and co-worker.  Her laugh was infectious and her smile will always be remembered. She will be missed.

The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Friday, May 5th for a funeral service at 10:00 a.m.   Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
