Obituary of Rosalind Fraser Plummer
ROSALIND FRASER PLUMMER
APRIL 25, 1958 – APRIL 15, 2017
It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Rosalind (Ros). Cherished wife of David and adored mother of Gillian, Katherine, and Nicola. Dearest daughter of Rose Fraser (and the late Robert Fraser) and daughter-in-law to Pat Plummer (and the late George Plummer). Loving sister of Sharon Stromdahl (Robert) and sister-in-law to Lynn and Paul Morse, Wendy and Mel Hinde, and Doug and Sandy Plummer. Loving auntie to Jeffrey and Jordan Stromdahl; Jeffrey, Julia, Peter, and Sam Morse; Christy Hinde; and Eric (Sara and daughter Eva), Adam, and Ted Plummer.
Ros was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to Montreal, Canada when she was 8-years old with her parents and Sharon. She graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1980 before moving to Toronto. Together with David, they built their company, Clearmount, over the course of 28 incredible years. During these years, she shared her time across the four places that meant the most to her: Toronto, Prince Rupert, Thornbury, and Muskoka.
Ros was always one to give more than she took: active in both the promotional products industry and in her community. Her family likes to joke that there’s never a sign-up sheet Ros said no to. She had an outsized impact on the lives of those she touched; her smile and laughter made this world a brighter place.
She loved her family and friends fiercely and they loved her back with that same intensity. A proud Scottish woman, she was a force to be reckoned with. She lives on in the strength she passed on to her three daughters, the memories that she created with her best friend David, and in the joy and laughter that she shared with Rose and Sharon.
Ros spent her last two weeks on a fabulous vacation with old and new friends along with David. Sadly, on the trip home, she was taken from us far too early. Next week will be her 59th birthday and in her memory, please read a good book, open a great wine, and make a toast to those you love.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Friday, April 21st from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. There will be a funeral service held in ST. JOHN’S YORK MILLS ANGLICAN CHURCH, 19 Don Ridge Drive (north of York Mills Road) on Saturday, April 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral service, a reception to celebrate Ros’ life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Rosedale Golf Club, 1901 Mount Pleasant Road.
If desired, the family requests donations to be made in Ros’ memory to two organizations that held a very special place in her heart: The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada at http://support.heartandstroke.ca/goto/RosPlummer and Peacebuilders International at http://peacebuilders.ca/donate/. Condolences, photographs, and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
