Obituary of Duane Kenneth Wills

DUANE KENNETH WILLS March 9, 1937 – March 13, 2017 With his family by his side, Duane passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in his 81st year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Duane was predeceased by his soulmate and loving wife of 53 years, Marion Lorraine “Tim” Wills (Nee Osler) and mother and father Genevieve and Kenneth Wills. Duane will be greatly missed by his four children, spouses and grandchildren. Loving father of Scott (Shawna) Wills, Angie (Jim) Ludwig, Sandy (Kris) Gerber, and Kathy (Chris) Braznick. Adored “Grandad” to his eight grandchildren, Ross & Ty, Amy & Matthew, Lindsay & Jack and Jules & Max. Loving brother to Carol (John) Franchi of Vancouver and uncle of Janet (Dave) Taylor and William Osler. Duane was born in Windsor, educated in Toronto as a Victoria College, University of Toronto graduate and a loyal Psi Upsilon fraternity brother. Duane dedicated 32 years of service to IBM Corporation and spent his many enjoyable retirement years curling, golfing, travelling and creating special moments for his family and friends. He was an enthusiastic curling participant at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club and valuable volunteer and organizer for special events. Duane adored his Lake Rosseau summer cottage and his Christ Church Windermere community. Duane’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Odette Cancer Centre for their care and compassion during Duane’s illness. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. in ST. JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH YORK MILLS, 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto. If desired, donations in Duane’s memory can be made to the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
