I thought of Mr Leuty today and was sad to hear of his passing. I used to book his tennis courts and string his racket at The Granite Club. He would always stop to chat at the sports desk. He was always causing smiles and bringing cheer. Kind regards, Paul

I send my condolence to all the family. I was away until recently and a few days ago a friend advised me of the passing of Evan. It brings back memories of the days I played with Evan at University of Toronto and in particular the picture of the Champion team of 1950, 51 Rich Howson

Dear Deanne, Jane and David,
I was so very sorry to learn of Evan's death. Unfortunately, I was out of the country and unable to attend the service. Evan was a lovely man - kind, warm, funny and caring. I enjoyed every minute of his company through the years. My mother, in particular, asks that I tell you how very fond she was of Evan, and how much Dad enjoyed their long friendship. As Michael commented, Evan was part of our lives from the beginning. Our thoughts and sympathies are with you and your families. Affectionately, Susan

Dear Jane and David and Family,
On behalf of my parents, Jack and Florence Trist, and my family, we are sending our sympathy to you.
My Dad, Jack, so enjoyed Evan's company at Devils Glen over many years of skiing and as a fellow tennis player at the Granite Club.
They shared many wonderful times together.
Also, my husband, Paul and I would often meet Evan at the Granite Club, Devils Glen and the Metro grocery store and have a wonderful chat with him.
A super guy!
Our sympathy,
Jack and Florence Trist

So sorry to learn of Evan's passing. So many fond memories. I worked with Evan at McCord & Company/Standard Industries for several years. (later Lafarge). Evan was a true gentleman, in every sense of the word. Intelligent, hardworking and loyal, with a wonderful sense of humour. Evan provided many laughs at our Company get togethers at Muskoka Sands and Deerhurst Resort.
He will be truly missed
To the Family, please accept my heartfelt, sincere condolences.

We were saddened to read of Evan's passing and wish to express our heartfelt condolences. We played tennis and socialized with Evan for many years at the Granite Club. He was a kind, thoughtful, true gentleman as well as a very nice tennis player. He will be greatly missed by all who enjoyed the privilege of his acquaintance. God Bless.

Evan was a long-time member of the Emily Duck Club. Members thoroughly enjoyed Evan at the camp and in the duck blinds. He was renown as Chief Chef and we were honored to be his sous chef. My contact with Evan goes back fondly to the late 60's when he was a prominent and active elder at the Zeta Psi Fraternity in Toronto. He was very highly regarded by all. On behalf of Zetes and Emily Duck Club, our condolences to family and know we greatly admired our dear friend.

Dear Jane, David and the rest of Evan’s family: We celebrate a wonderful close friend to our entire family. I’ve known Evan my entire life and as I think of him I have a flood of happy memories, mostly of our times together at Cedar Point: horseshoes, parties, fishing trips, drinks and talks on the beach and so much more. An enduring and endearing memory for me is of the many fishing trips he undertook with my father Dick Pearce. The two of them were devoted fishermen who greatly cared for their boats and then off they’d go after bass -- relentlessly. They would usually return to the shore, honking their horn to draw attention to their strings of fish. Happy times indeed. I have uploaded just one of many photos of the two of them (from 1994). Evan was a gracious, fun-loving, thoughtful man who always really “showed up”. I remember him with gratitude for his warmth and his counsel. On behalf of the entire Pearce family, I extend our condolences to Evan’s family. (I wish I could do that in person this week, but Kathy and I will be in Europe.)
