Obituary of Donald Scott Affleck

<p>DONALD SCOTT AFFLECK</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Son of Mr. R.W.D Affleck and Norine (Nee) Walsh. Loving husband of Shanon Grauer. Proud father of Deborah Jean Affleck and Donald William Affleck. Father-in-law of Paul Buzbuzian and Caryn Affleck.&nbsp; Grandfather of Zachary Buzbuzian and Nicholas Buzbuzian.&nbsp; Don was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth and his brother-in-law Don Monro.&nbsp; He is survived by his sister Ann Monro, his niece and nephews in the U.K. (Heather, Andrew and Douglas) and by Mary Jean Affleck.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Don was a graduate of Victoria College and a member of its football team. He graduated from the University of Toronto&rsquo;s Law School and practiced law for over 50 years, specializing in Competition Law. He was a founder of, and counsel to, Affleck, Greene, McMurtry and a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and Queen&rsquo;s Counsel.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Don enjoyed sports, fishing, collecting stamps, gardening, bird watching and reading. He will be sorely missed by numerous friends and colleagues, and by his two cats (Brock and Copper). A memorial service will be held in the CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER, 162 Bloor Street West on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will have occurred before the service. A reception will follow the service at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Queen&rsquo;s Park Ballroom (4 Avenue Road, Toronto) from 3:00 &ndash; 5:00 p.m.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Please consider a charitable donation in Don&rsquo;s memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society.&nbsp; Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.</p>
