I was fortunate to meet Anne Marie in the winter of 1993 when she hired me right after I was called to the Bar. I remember her asking me “How did you get here”. I proceeded to tell her about my schooling and employment experience to which she said “No, how did you actually get here today.” Typical AMG, as we all called her, always thinking differently, she wanted to ensure that whomever she hired would be able to come to work in a snow storm. I lived down the street … I got the job! I enjoyed all my time working for her …. she was kind, brilliant and funny with an infectious laugh. She always thought of her staff first … I remember her taking a seat at the back of an event so that we could all sit in the front row. My thoughts and prayers are with her family … may they find comfort in knowing what a wonderful woman she was and how many lives she touched in a positive way.

I was sorry to read this news about Anne Marie. I have good memories of her from law functions and parent activities at Deer Park school many years ago. It's been a long time since I last saw her, and I never knew her as well as I would have liked. But I remember her as a kind person with a sparkling personality.

Anne Marie was my principal when I began my articles at Benson McMurtry. She was brilliant. She loved the law. She mentored me and taught me a great deal - both about the law and the more essential part of practice - dealing with people. She was beautiful and completely devoted to her children. Anne Marie and I worked together at the Ministry of the Attorney General, particularly while she was at the Ministry of Natural Resources. She was passionate about the law, respected by her colleagues and dedicated to her employees. She was thoughtful and creative in her approach to solving problems. She loved to laugh at a humorous story but most of all, she loved her children. My sincere condolences to her family.

I have the best of memories of Anne Marie and her home. I used to walk by her house 4 times daily. It's so difficult to understand her passsing that of Warren several years ago. Anne Marie brought genuine curiosity, an analytical mind, fresh perspective and humour to every situation and relationship she encountered. She struggled a long time with this illness, showing courage, strength and finally acceptance. She retained her sense of humour to the end.
