Obituary of Joan Frances Isabel Greene

<p>GREENE, JOAN FRANCES ISABEL (nee Moseley)</p> <p>January 20, 1938 – November 14, 2016</p> <p> </p> <p>We are saddened to announce the passing of Joan on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the age of 78.  She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jane and husband Arnis Budrevics of Toronto, son David and husband Chisholm Lyons of Florida, son Jeff of Winnipeg and his sons Andrew and Jordan of Winnipeg.</p> <p> </p> <p>Joan was born in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, the daughter of S. Charles and Olive May Moseley (nee Tobin Corkum).  She graduated from Dalhousie University in 1961 with a degree in Nursing.  Following graduation, she worked as a nurse and ultimately was on the nurse training staff at Toronto Western Hospital.  She retired from nursing to raise her family.  Joan subsequently sold real estate, ran a uniform supply business for Balmoral Hall School in Winnipeg, and owned The Quilt House in Peterborough, Ontario.</p> <p> </p> <p>Joan married John George Greene in 1963, having met at Sault Ste, Marie Collegiate Institute in 1952.  John passed away on April 21, 2014 in their 51^st year of marriage.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p>The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2^nd with a service to be held at 3:00 p.m. and a reception to follow.  If friends wish, donations may be made in her honour to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.</p>
