I met Bill when he was at Ridley College
in St. Catharines, Ontario. I believe I was his first date for the graduation Ball. Bill became a great friend of my whole family and was more like a member of our family.
Bill was brilliant, witty, and wise. I cherished our friendship. Loved his sister
Owen and his Parents. Once in a very very rare while one meets the likes of Cecil Embury Carsley. A very unique, wonderful,
wise, loving human being.
God Rest Your Soul,
Barbara Ann MacMahon - Firestone.

My name is John Pasquill and I worked with Bill at Canada Vinegar's in the late 60/70's.
I love the life story in the Globe and Mail and the general comments to which I can easily associate.
My wish would be to be advised when you going to have the gathering to "Toast his Life"
He was a great guy to work with

Uncle Bill was a great soul and if one was lucky enough to be subjected to the full force ofo his laughter and wit (usually via a Saturday night dinner at the cottage), the effect was indelible. I was lucky enough to have him as a godfather as well as an uncle and I suppose it provided me with a great many bow tie gifts over the years, usually supplied via Christmas cards out to Vancouver. Thanks Billy, you touched a great many people and we will miss you.

Dear Louis, Andrew, and Doug,
Just a note to offer my condolences after many years of not seeing you or your father, or hearing his delightful laugh. For years your grandmother, Mary, kept tabs on your family for me out here in Vancouver, but after her passing and my mother Aunt Ruth), little has been heard. I was particularly saddened to learn it was complications from Altzheimer's, a particularly grievous way for a man whose wit was his forte.
Give my regards to you mother.
