It was at Queens' Park, the 100th Anniversary of the Soldiers' Aid Commission, November 2015, Comrade Alfred approached and introduced himself as a Past Vice-President, and the oldest living Senior Officer of Ontario Command. I was honoured that he had introduced himself. It was truly a pleasure, for me, to have made Comrade Al's acquaintance. One of those short, sweet moments, in life, that will be a treasured memory forever. Sincere condolences to Mrs Harris and the Harris Family. Phyllis ... Our sincere condolences to you and the family. Al was very special to us and will be sorely missed. As we head off to the District E fall convention this weekend, he will be in our thoughts as you will be in our prayers. Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Al was a wonderful, thoughtful and generous man and we always appreciated that Al, Phyllis and Lois would make the trip to Niagara or Milton for our family events. Al valued family and that was evident in his embrace of our family as well. He was always interested in how, and what everyone was doing. We also have many fond memories of our visits to Toronto and especially dinner at the Granite Club! We will miss Al and will always remember him for the true gentleman that he was.
