Obituary of Frances Rauenbusch
FRANCES JOYCE RAUENBUSCH
September 2, 1943 - July 2, 2016
It is with deep sadness that the family of Frances Joyce Rauenbusch announces her sudden passing on Saturday, July 2nd.
Frances was born to her parents Francis and Geraldine Joyce in Timmins, Ontario. She grew up in Timmins with her siblings Mary Ann and Michael. Frances left Timmins to attend the University of Windsor, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
After her undergraduate studies, Frances settled in Toronto where she met William Rauenbusch. The couple fell in love and married on June 24, 1972. William and Frances began their family together when Timothy was born in January, 1975. Christopher was later born in October, 1979. Frances and William proudly raised their family in Toronto, making annual trips to Whistler, and often to Timmins to visit family.
Frances returned to continue her education at the University of Toronto and obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology. She spent her career with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, culminating as the board's Chief Psychologist. Frances' passion was helping children cope with learning disabilities and promoting reading skills in their early years. She felt blessed to have found a career which allowed her to impact so many children's lives.
Frances and William lived their life together in Toronto, filled with love and companionship until William's passing in May, 2015.
Frances is survived by her two loving sons Timothy and Christopher, son-in-law Shawne Mohl, grandson Benjamin, granddog Felix, sister Mary Ann McCartney, sister-in-law Laura Evans, nieces Shannon and Nancy, nephews Richard, Joel, Patrick and Mike, as well as so many other family and friends. Frances is predeceased by her loving husband William, her brother Michael Joyce, sister-in-law Helen Rauenbusch and brother-in-law Henry Rauenbusch.
Frances touched the lives of all who were privileged to know her. Throughout her life, she had an ability to connect and to selflessly help others.
