Obituary of Stanton Mulvihill

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Stanton (Stan) B. Mulvihill on Thursday, May 26, 2016 surrounded with the love of his family. Stan grew up in Ottawa, taking his first steps into the world of business at Freiman's Department Store, where he met the love of his life Kathy and continued his life-long friendship with A.J. Freiman. In 1975, Kathy and Stan moved to Montreal where Stan embarked on his first venture in menswear with business partner and childhood friend, Michael Belcourt. While living in Montreal, Stan and Kathy welcomed their first child, Ryan. In 1984, both Stan and Kathy had other opportunities to pursue in Toronto, and they moved just prior to welcoming their second child, Keeley. Stan, in partnership with his friend Michael enjoyed many years of success with Polo Ralph Lauren Canada until his retirement in 2000. In retirement, Stan and Kathy enjoyed travelling often with friends, and took many interesting and exciting trips. Stan and Kathy also hosted many friends and family at their winter get-away in Boca Raton, Florida. Stan's greatest pleasure in life however, was enjoying the spectacular sunsets at the family retreat on Georgian Bay. Stan was a family man and always cherished family time…a particularly precious memory is of Stan dancing with his beautiful granddaughters at his 70th birthday party. Stan leaves heartbroken his wife of 46 years, Kathy, his son, Ryan, daughter Keeley and granddaughters Teegan and Kaydence. Stan is survived by his sister, Dr. Julia Mulvihill Wilson of Alabama. Stan leaves many sisters and brothers-in-law as well as his niece and nephews and his absence will always be painfully felt. Stan is pre-deceased by his parents, Basil and Mary Bridgit Mulvihill. The Family wishes to thank the many friends who have lent their support and good wishes over these last few years. Many thanks go the to the kind, compassionate and wonderfully skilled team of the 10th floor, Eaton South at TGH and UHN Palliative Care team.
