My condolences to Tom's family. I just found out today. I met Tom when he worked for the City of Toronto and I worked there too in the Claims Dept.
I know how much he loved his golf and jazz. He was a true gentleman. Sorry for your loss.
He adored his granddaughters and spoke proudly of his sons and daughter-in-law.

For one who delighted in collecting and sharing stories of Leaside's colourful characters of the past, Tom was no slouch himself. He delighted in strong opinion, leaving no one in doubt about Blue Jays (mis)management or our countries political directions. His raspy bar room baritone could frighten small children and large animals.
He was tireless in reserecting a dormant LHS '57 Alumni group, organizing reunions and local pub get-togethers in Toronto. My wife Elizabeth and I enjoyed having many of the old gang out here at our Elora farm several summers ago, mostly at Tom's insistence.
Thanks for a life well lived Tom.

My name is Joan Clements the daughter of Frank your Grandmother Evelyn's brother and I'm truly sorry for your loss. I met your Dad for the first time at one of our family reunions in St. Augustine, Fl several years ago. In the past couple of years we became facebook friends, and spoke on the phone every couple of months. We discussed the Clements Family and traded stories about what we knew about our family tree. Your Dad referred to me as his "Kissin Cousin" and always made me laugh. I was so sorry to hear that he passed away without another chance to meet and talk to him. With my deepest and heartfelt condolences. Joan Clements

My deepest condolence to Tom's family. Tom was a great communicator and loved to keep all Leaside High School alumni in touch. I always enjoyed his emails and long distance late night phone calls. Fondly remembered, God bless.

I am so sorry for the sudden loss of Thomas. I spoke with Tom around Thanksgiving and was so pleased to hear he was spending this with his family. He spoke very highly of his sons and grandchildren. And he was very excited about the cottage. And I believe this is where Thanksgiving took place. I met Thomas about 12 years ago and shared some treasured times with him. He will always be very special to me. He was a great guy and a good person...the world is a poorer place with his passing. With heartfelt sympathies to his family. God be with you.

My condolences to Tom's family. I got to know Tom through our shared love of Leaside. Recently I provided him with a video copy of his acceptance speech of his late father Arthur's (Laurie)induction to the Leaside Sports Hall of Fame. He was very proud of his dad and the Irwin family's Leaside roots. I will miss his phone calls, emails and his great sense of humour.

Sorry to hear about Tom! I know he is now at the big Ballpark in the Sky. I can`t be there as I am in Bradenton thinking of him and the day we went to the to watch the Pirates during spring training. One of my fondest memories as we talked Baseball under the sun for 3 hours straight. Sitting up front along 1st base, enjoying the game drinking beer! Jerry Farrell

We spoke last week and he was excited and upbeat about the future at the cottage. I will miss our long distance phone calls and chats about his beloved Blue Jays. Sleep well Tommy. The rest of us will be along soon enough.
