Obituary of Thora Gerow

THORA REBECCA "JERRY" GEROW June 13, 1919 - January 28, 2016 Jerry passed away peacefully in her home at Briton House after a long and productive life. Born in Picton Ontario, Jerry was predeceased by her only sister June (2010) and is survived by niece Lizbeth Gerow of Dundas Ontario and several cousins. Jerry graduated as a Registered Nurse from Belleville General Hospital. Highlights of her 55 year career include serving "overseas" in Labrador as a Nursing Sister during WWII, becoming one of the first Nurse Practitioners in Ontario in 1975, and mentoring hundreds of nurses. The family would like to thank the staff at First Health Care and Briton House for their respectful and tender care of Jerry. The family will receive friends in ST.
