Robert (Bob) Brass

Obituary of Robert (Bob) William Brass

Robert (Bob) William Brass

Born: October 17, 1966

Dear family and friends once again we must announce the sudden passing of a family member, my brother Robert (Bob) William Brass, at the age of 56 on Monday, May 8, 2023. Beloved, thoughtful and caring son of William (Bill) and Barbara Brass (both deceased). Loving and caring brother of Bernice and brother-in-law Randy. Fun loving and caring uncle to Rebecca and Jessica.

Bob lived in Scarborough with mom until her sudden passing only a few months ago on December 13, 2022. He had a one in a million smile, a caring, and devoted personality to family and friends alike. Mom and Bob also enjoyed spending many summers at the cottage in the Kawartha Lakes. He was happiest up at the cottage, frequenting Kawartha Dairy in Bobcaygeon for his favourite - Tiger Tail among the many other flavours.

All of Bob’s family and friends will agree that he lived for his love of not only them, but for sports, especially hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs & Seattle Kraken) and baseball (Toronto Blue Jays). No matter the sport, Bob was always eager to watch and cheer on the team. Bob loved collecting memorabilia from movies, music, hockey, and other sports. He loved playing PlayStation video games with family and friends (and especially being beaten by his niece). Bob was always up on which shows and movies to watch although we did not always agree on the genre.

Bob’s cat “Buddy” meant the world to him. Bob was a real cat lover and loved all the family pet cats over the years. Due to circumstances, Buddy is now at Toronto Animal Services in Scarborough looking forward to finding his new forever home.

Bob: brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, neighbour, and friend – you will always be remembered for your love of life, caring, and thoughtfulness of all of us. You left us too soon to join mom and dad in heaven. Although you are gone from our sight you will always be in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Cemetery, Toronto on Wednesday, May 17th at 12:30pm.

Donations can be made in Bob’s memory to either:

  • Toronto Humane Society
  • Toronto Animal Services (Scarborough Animal Shelter)
  • World Wildlife Fund (for his love of tigers)
