Dear Carole and Family
My love and prayers are with you at this time as you prepare for Tony's farewell ritual. Having come to know Tony and you through his life long friendship with David and Joe has been such a joy. Such long distance friendships as experienced by Tony, Dave and Joe, ironically have really been very close. I was blessed to share along the journey and especially grateful for time in Toronto with you in 2011.
Tony is already missed greatly and will be remembered with gratitude and love.
Wishing you all every blessing during this time.
May Tony's soul pass through Rapahoe and all those places he cherished in Aotearoa and beyond on his way to his eternal 'home'.
Kia moe marie - may he rest in peace
Cathy Harrison

Carole and family: Ginny and I were very saddened to read of Tony's death this week. Our joint connection to Sunnybrook and the Leaside neighbourhood make it even more emotional for us. I still can picture Tony riding his bike down our street many times on the way home. And Ginny reminded me that when the kids were young, Tony brought David to the door because Aaron and he had been fighting and he wanted them to shake hands and make peace, this all requested in his quiet, calm voice.
Many more intimate memories will have to sustain you and the boys now and down the road but it will help ease the grief a bit.of a life well lived. Take care

Tony was a great friend for all my life hen I was a child I played with his niece Wendy's Rapahoe of course was always great excitement when uncle Tony was coming home. There is a saying you can take the boy out of the country but not the country out of the boy. Tony always visited my family when on the coast of course it meant a feed of whitebait from the Rapahoe River he loved our Reunions don't think he missed one always asking when our next one was .He rang mee 15 times in one day when he was sick in January we laughed each time.I am sure he will be on his push bike riding to see everyone.Thankks for your lifetime friendship Tony. Our condolences to your wife and family's

Tony was a gentile, genuine person of great faith who went out of his way to let people know he appreciated them. Whenever he would ask how I was, I knew I could always go beyond the standard "I'm fine" because he sincerely cared about the answer. I will miss him and our visits at St. Anselm's Church.
My sympathies and prayers are with Carole, his children and grandchildren at this difficult time. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

We were greeters with Tony at St. Anselm’s Parish. He was a man small in stature, but with a phenomenal impact. His smile and friendly greeting made so many people feel welcome and that they truly belonged to a community. In his own humble way, he would never take credit for his impact. Carole and family we are sorry for your loss and admire the team you are.

Tony was a great pal of my husband Joe Kopu, a follow Kiwi. Tony would always arrive at Hemingways to celebrate Waitangi (New Zealand) Day with Joe and our Tranzac Maori dance party. His lovely smile always warmed my heart. Tony and Joe would talk about the All Blacks and the state of rugby. They also played tennis; not together, but still had lots to talk about. Joe will miss 'Tangles' and is sad he missed saying haere ra (goodbye).
Tony was such a dear man I'm sure he'll be sorely missed by Carole and his family and friends.
Dolores (dodo) and Joe Kopu
